:: History::
In the course of fables the heroes of which are unlikely beings or worrying geniuses, Linda Quilt, with a very British humour tinted with cruelty, invites us to conceive life and happiness under day other one. His characters are from childhood afflicted with monstrous characteristics which transform their existence and that of their circle into nightmare. With skill and mind, the author draws them away, as in philosophical tales, in series of comical or dreadful tests which are so much questions from which the reader will draw a lesson perhaps. Is the truth always good to say? Is he wise to want to differ from others? Is it a blessing to be exceptionally gifted? In these mysteries, and in some others, our heroes bring, sometimes in their expenses, an always delightful and instructive, unexpected answer. Far from the delightful kids of postcards, we are closer to those who populate the frightening world of William Golding and let us find especially the creaking mind of Roald Dahl, for our most great pleasure. sources: Seuil 2008
