The film is the adaptation of the novel " Gomarra of Roberto Saviano drawing inspiration from real facts, seemed in 2007 (a million copies sold in Italy, and around thirty translations) threatened with death by Camorra and under police protection. The writer worked beside the film director, Matteo Garrone, to transpose his text on the screen. Violence, blood, weapon: here is the mafia which films Matteo Garrone. Far from plates, he shows the mafioso for what they are. He tells destinies of the "soldiers" of the criminal organisation with a sharp realism.
